Junior Accountant


This position is for a Real Estate Management firm located in Brooklyn, NY.


  • Banking of cash and check receipts

  • Reconciliations of checking, credit card, and petty cash accounts

  • Accounts Payables; process and code vendor invoices, post and issue check, credit card and online payments. Reconcile vendor statements

  • Accounts Receivables; verify sales receipts, create customer invoices, collections

  • Payroll; Prepare weekly payroll through QuickBooks and file weekly and taxes with appropriate tax agencies

  • Process Payroll and monitor through QuickBooks General Ledger downloads

  • Ensure Business permits, licenses and Insurances policies are filed or renewed on a timely basis

  • Assist General Manager Track sales and expenses, month-end closing and prepare Income Statements for internal Management

  • Prepare and records asset, liability, revenue, and expense entries by compiling and analyzing account information

  • Maintain and balance subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, posting, reconciling transactions; resolving discrepancies

  • Maintain general ledger by transferring subsidiary accounts; preparing a trial balance; reconciling entries

  • Summarize financial status by collecting information; preparing balance sheet, profit and loss, forecast vs. actual and other statements

  • Various administrative tasks


Job Requirements:


  • Associates degree

  • Experience with bookkeeping and QuickBooks – real estate industry

  • Proficient computer skills and experience with internet, and other web-based applications

  • Strong team skills and ability to work with executive director and other admin staff

  • Ability to plan and manage own work load, and meet deadlines with minimal supervision

  • Demonstrate experience with thorough and detail-oriented work, and strong organizational skills
